Origin of chemistry word
Chemistry word is derives from the word “alchemy” which is found in various forms in European languages. The Alchemy word derives from the Arabic word kimiya or al-kīmiya, while this arabic word is derived from Greek word χημεία (khemeia) meaning “cast together” or “pour together”.
“Alchemy” means Black Earth (where there is abundance of chemicals).
Definition of Chemistry
Chemistry is that branch of science which deals with entire aspects relaed to chemicals (a form of matter) i.e. structure of chemical, composition of chemical, physical properties and chemical properties of chemical.
Chemicals are mainly elements , componds and mixtures and the smallest coponent of chemical is atom ( By Dalton).
Branches of Chemistry
Till now 118 elements and more than 350,000 chemical compounds have been discovered so far and registered for production and use world wise.
It is very difficult to study all elements and that much componds without any plan, hence for study convenience now a day our chemistry has more than 50 branches out of which three of them are basic branches and these are-
- Physical Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Inorganic Chemistry
Physical Chemistry
The branch of chemistry that deals about various laws, various principles , mathematical calculation related to chemicals and more importantly techniques and theories of physics to the study of chemical systems called Physical Chemistry
You have to study twelve chapters in physical chemistry while preparing for Jee main, Jee advance and NEET in which first seven chapters belongs to 11th NCERT, while rest five chapters belongs to 12th NCERT, these chapters are-
11th NCERT Part – 01
- Some Basic Concept of Chemistry
- Atomic Structure
- Chemical bonding
- State of Matter
- Thermodynamics
- Chemical Equilibrium
11th NCERT Part – 01
- Redox Reaction
12th NCERT Part – 01
- Solid State
- Liquid solution
- Electrochemistry
- Chemical Kinetics
- Surface Chemistry
When your aim is to crack any competitive examinations like jee main, jee advance, and NEET then Physical Chemistry is the most important and scoring parts of Chemistry.
After analyzing the previous 12 years paper of jee main, jee advance, and NEET it has been cleared that about 50 to 55% questions are asked from all chapters of physical chemistry
More importantly if you want to understand organic and inorganic Chemistry easily, you must have conceptual knowledge of Physical Chemistry.
To secure high marks in JEE, NEET and Board Exams, you have to equally focus on Numerical & theoretical parts of Physical Chemistry.
With Ranjan Singh Sir, who is one of the best Chemistry teacher in Boring Road, Patna for jee main, jee advance, and NEET ,surely you will be able to solve all the Numerical of Physical Chemistry easily by understanding basic concepts, modified formula’s and unique and best tricks .
Organic Chemistry
The branch of chemistry which deals about structure, composition, reactions, preparation and properties of carbon-containing compounds is called Organic Chemistry.
The simplest Organic Compound is the one which contains Carbon and Hydrogen only i.e. Hydrocarbon.
Most of the organic compounds contain carbon and hydrogen, but some of them may also contain elements like nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur, silicon, halogens, phosphorus etc called derivatives of Hydrocarbon.
Hence in Modern prospective Organic Chemistry is the study of Hydrocarbon and it’s derivatives.
You have to study ten chapters in Organic chemistry while preparing for Jee main, Jee advance and NEET in which first three chapters belongs to 11th NCERT, while rest seven chapters belongs to 12th NCERT, these chapters are –
11th NCERT Part – 02
- Some Basic Concept of Organic Chemistry
- Hydrocarbon
- Environmental Chemistry
12th NCERT Part – 02
- Haloalkanes and Haloarenes
- Alcohol, phenol and Ether
- Aldehyde, Ketone, Carboxylic Acid and it’s Derivatives
- Amines
- Biomolecules
- Polymers
- Chemistry in every daylife
When your aim is to crack any competitive examinations like jee main, jee advance, and NEET, then Organic Chemistry also plays vital role in scoring high marks in Chemistry portion.
After analyzing the previous 10 to 12 years paper of jee main, jee advance, and NEET it has been observed that about 30 to 35% questions are asked from all chapters of Organic chemistry
To understand Organic Chemistry for JEE Main, JEE Advance, NEET and Board Exams, you have a very clear and sound concept of Nomenclature, isomerism and Reaction Mechanism.
With Ranjan Singh Sir, who is one of the best Chemistry teacher in Boring Road, Patna for jee main, jee advance, and NEET ,surely you will be able to solve all the questions of Organic Chemistry easily by understanding basic concepts, and best tricks .
Inorganic Chemistry
The branch of chemistry which deals about structure, composition, reactions, preparation and properties of all elements and compounds is called Inorganic Chemistry.
You have to study eight chapters in Inorganic chemistry while preparing for Jee main, Jee advance and NEET in which first four chapters belongs to 11th NCERT, while rest four chapters belongs to 12th NCERT, these chapters are-
11th NCERT Part – 02
- Periodic classification of element
- s- Block Element
- p- Block Element (13th and 14th group elements)
- Hydrogen
12th NCERT Part – 01
- p- Block Element (15th , 16th , 17th and 18th group elements)
- d and f – Block element
- Metallurgy
- Coordination Compound
While preparing various competitive examinations like jee main, jee advance, and NEET then Inorganic Chemistry is the also important of Chemistry.
After analyzing the previous 10 to 12 years paper of jee main, jee advance, and NEET it has been observed that about 20 to 25% questions are asked from all chapters of Inorganic Chemistry.
More importantly if you want to understand Inorganic Chemistry easily, you must have clear concept of atomic structure and chemical bonding and you have to stick on NCERT content completly .
With Ranjan Singh Sir, who is one of the best Chemistry teacher in Boring Road, Patna for jee main, jee advance, and NEET ,surely you will be able to understand Inorganic Chemistry through unique and best tricks.
